300 Club Pairs.The annual 300 club event was held on Saturday 16th February with a great turnout of 14 1/2 tables made up with a great mix of all levels of players, played in a friendly atmosphere.

Congratulations to Anne Murdoch & Doreen Hollywood who won the West District Congress Bronze Pairs on Saturday 16th March and the next day won the Bronze Teams with a pair from West.
The committee is aware that there are people who are not happy with the spread of hands in the random dealt boards.
Having spoken to other clubs that use dealer 4 and the manufacturer, it has been decided to deal racks A and B in sets of 24 boards for use in clubs (most clubs only play 24 boards) if more boards are required on the day, boards 25 to 28 can be handmade.
Racks C and D will still be dealt in sets of 28 boards.
The redealt boards will have a sticker “24 board set” on the left hand side
This is for a trial period of 3 months, after which Committee will review the situation.
Well Done to Pauline Phillps and Fiona Abbott who finished 2nd in the Congress Pairs at the Peebles Autumn Congress. David Wiseman and his partner were also very well placed at 4th. There were 8 players from Ayrshire at the congress and the full results can be seen at the SBU website sbu.org.uk
